On-the-Job Training

For Employers

What’s On-the-Job Training (OJT)

OJT is an essential tool that can help employers offset the cost of training new talent. The program offers an incentive to employers for hiring eligible job seekers and providing them new skills training

OJT provides reimbursement to the employer; up to 50% of the new employee’s wages for a designated period. This reimbursement assists in covering some of the extraordinary costs of providing the training.

Make HR Easy

Employers are Saying

“As a small business owner in Southeastern Michigan, I wanted to share with you the reliance I have on the Michigan Works! Services. We decided to take advantage of the “ON THE JOB TRAINING” program, this allowed us to go outside of our typical pool of individuals with related experience, and instead source quality individuals with out-of-date skill sets. Thanks to this program, since 2012 we have retrained and retained 11 employees and have been reimbursed an estimate of $44, 000!”
M. Parisi, Sunroof Express
