Molding Machine Operator / Assembler – New Baltimore, MI.
Available Shifts :
2nd Shift: 2:45 pm – 11:15 pm
3rd Shift: 10:45 – 7:15 am
Responsibilities of the Molding Machine Operator/Assembler:
Inspect 100% of the parts and/or labels using visual inspections, touch, and measuring devices to ensure defect-free parts.
Removes molded products from molding machines.
Pack only clean quality parts by designated packaging requirements.
Perform all assigned duties within the allotted period/keep up with the cycle of the machine.
Notify the Supervisor or quality tech of any non-conforming issue related to your specific task.
Mark and save suspected defected parts as indicated in the work instructions and place them in the designated area.
Follow required steps to certify for every part run and secondary operation performed.
Follow the Operator Work & Packaging Instruction Sheet found in the Job Packet or Instruction Board for Every Job Run.
Communicate all job information to break/relief operators.
Provide accurate scrap counts at the end of the shift.
Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment while complying with company procedures regarding safety and environmental regulations.
Notify your supervisor should any problems arise during your shift, including but not limited to injury.
Arrive on time to work and return from breaks/meal periods.
Performs all duties by Company standards and ISO/IATF requirements. Assist in the development and continuous improvement of operations in the plant and quality systems.
Additional Duties/Responsibilities may include acting as a relief operator doing the following: Covering fellow operators in the assigned work area first, then assisting in other areas if needed.
Every operator’s break is to be covered by a relief; no operator is to leave their assigned work area without being relieved by another operator.
When not covering breaks, provide support in the assigned work area, including (but not limited to): making packaging, helping get overflow caught up, scanning finished goods, making labels, obtaining components needed, cleaning, and assisting on presses when needed.
If necessary, assist other reliefs in giving breaks in their assigned areas. Reliefs are expected to remain in their assigned area unless assisting with breaks in other areas.
Qualifications of the Molding Machine Operator/Assembler:
Required Skills/Abilities :
Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
Ability to comprehend and perform basic math skills (addition, subtraction, and multiplication)
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions in English.Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable Federal and State OSHA regulations along with maintaining ISO and IATF requirements.
Education and Experience :
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
At least one year of related experience or Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.
Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods working on feet, using hand/power tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
Must be able to lift to 35 pounds at a time.
Visual acuity to read instructions and inspect parts produced.
